Rainework

I am an artist who began in the more traditional forms of watercolors and charcoals, who has in the past two years begun to create using 3d software. My favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction which I have loved since I was quite young. Initially I think part of the draw was that the boundaries of what is possible are set entirely by the artist, though as I have matured (somewhat) I also enjoy the more technical challenges of creating something that is completely fantastical that nevertheless appears as though it could exist. Lately I have been finding myself drawn to Steampunk imagery as I love the range of metallic textures in what are often more monochromatic colour stories (often, not always).

Like many artists I have always tried to find a way to express myself creatively in everything I have done, which has lead to some varied educational and professional experiences. I was originally trained as a graphic designer... so many years ago my software knowledge had been rendered obsolete by the time I started experimenting with Poser (if you'll pardon the unintentional pun).

I have recently upgraded from Poser Debut to Poser 9, and after more than a year of experimentation with Poser Debut I have suddenly found myself back at the beginning, often wondering "what does this button do?!?" Any tips are more than welcome. I am still a CG "newbie" relatively speaking, and am always looking to improve my end product.
